Members of Ferrari Owners Club Indonesia recently took 28 Ferraris on an epic tour of Italy for an unforgettable week-long celebration of all things Prancing Horse. The journey started in Maranello and took in the delights of Tuscany, Firenze, Monte Carlo, Milan and Modena. Naturally, the celebration of Ferrari had to commence in Maranello. Indonesian Ferrari owners enjoyed a factory tour, a VIP dinner within the Museo Ferrari Maranello, and a private preview of the Ferrari Portofino ahead of its market launch in Indonesia.
They would then get to enjoy the rest of the Ferrari range on a grand tour of Italy. The start of the drive was marked by a perfectly-arranged line of Ferrari 488 series, GTC4 Lusso and Lusso T, plus the 812 Superfast outside the Maranello Factory. Owners first got to grips with the cars by touring the Italian countryside, reaching the history city of Florence, then visiting the Leaning Tower of Pisa, before leaving Italy to visit Monte Carlo in Monaco – and enjoying a dinner in the famous Monaco Yacht Club.
The Indonesian Ferrari fans then drove on to the Alps, visiting the iconic Col de Turini mountain pass – the perfect way to enjoy the thrilling handling of a Ferrari to a breathtaking backdrop. They enjoyed dinner at the two-Michelin-star Chateau de la Chevre d’Or in Eze, before what’s described as “a spirited night-time drive back”. The sixth day started with a tour of a Batasiolo winery, then a drive on to Boscareto for lunch. There was no time to dwell though, because it was onto the famous city of Milan – and a special reserved parking area at the Corso Venezia.
Enthusiastic Milanese soon gathered around the cars, making the Indonesian owners feel like celebrities. That evening, dinner was at the Armani Nobu; Ferrari Owners Club Indonesia members signed polo shirts as a memento. The next day, it was onwards to Modena, to round out the thrilling 1,600km journey, by hearing about how Enzo Ferrari became the world’s most legendary sports car manufacturer. At the dinner that evening at Formigine Castle, everyone agreed it was a journey never to be forgotten.
