Lisa Movius

Hailing from California but based in Shanghai since 1998, freelance writer Lisa Movius covers Asia's contemporary art, music, theatre and film, history, design, fashion and business. Previously the correspondent for WWD, she has contributed to British Vogue, The New Republic, and The Wall Street Journal, and currently she writes regularly for WGSN, The Art Newspaper and Art in America. Movius is active in the Shanghai indie music scene, and works part-time at the city's largest rock venue Mao Livehouse. She also sidelines as a translator and collects vintage hats and Shanghainese Art Deco furniture.
