15th April 2007 was the date of the Bahrain Grand Prix. The race was a triumph for Ferrari with Felipe Massa leading the way on a day when he was untouchable. The Brazilian’s dominance began on Friday when he took pole and then in the race, no one could get near him.
The Sao Paulo man won from Lewis Hamilton in the McLaren and Kimi Räikkönen in the other F2007, the Brazilian also setting fastest race lap, thus securing the first of the four race grand slams he has notched up to date. Thanks to the win, Massa moved back up towards the top end of the classification on 17 points, right behind an amazing lead trio, all of them on 22 points. At the top was Fernando Alonso, boasting one win, a second and a fifth place, followed by Kimi Raikkonen with one win and two thirds and Lewis Hamilton with two seconds and a third.
