Four years ago today, Giovanni Soldini came to Maranello for a special meeting with Stefano Domenicali, when he was given a full factory tour, from the Gestione Sportiva to the new production line. The famous Italian sailor known for his lone journeys, was preparing for the Volvo Ocean Race, the round the world yacht race, featuring a full crew, which over eight months would do several legs covering the distance from Alicante to Cape Town. In all his adventures Giovanni Soldini has always said he took inspiration from Ferrari when it came to getting organised for these events, unique in being able to translate that passion into conquering new heights. After this visit Soldini took on two more big challenges, setting a new world record in the 2013 Golden Route race from New York to San Francisco and then in 2014 winning the difficult Cape2Rio race, in a record time of 10 days, 11 hours, 29 minutes, 57 seconds.
