On 10th February 2006, Luca Badoer was one of the stars of the opening ceremony of the XX Winter Olympic Games in Turin. During the event, which took place inside the Olympic Stadium, Badoer put on a show at the wheel of a 248 F1, which would go on to fly the Scuderia Ferrari flag that year. It proved very exciting for the thousands of spectators in the stadium and the hundreds of millions – 1.8 billion to be precise making it the most viewed event of the year – who watched it on television. For the first time, a Formula 1 car, bearing the five Olympic rings put on a great show on a Ferrari-red field, with the nose of the car bearing the Italian flag.
