December is the month when the usual Italian television marathon show takes place to raise funds for Telethon, a foundation that supports scientific research into cures for rare genetic conditions. Ferrari has always had close links to the foundation and indeed Luca di Montezemolo has taken on the role of being its President.

On 20th December 2010, the seventh 24 Hours for Telethon motorsport competition took place, to raise funds for this research. That year, at the Adria circuit, one of the main contenders was Giancarlo Fisichella, then third driver for Scuderia Ferrari. He was racing one of the ten Fiat 500s entered in the “5Hundred Cup” and took the class win, finishing fourth overall. Another personality linked to the Prancing Horse was part of the Roman driver’s team: Eugene Kaspersky, founder and owner of the eponymous company, the fourth in the world in terms of production and sales of IT security solutions for end users.
