On 16th October 2008, in Shanghai, Ferrari celebrated its five hundredth sale in China. The delivery of the car to Mr. Lu, the president of a Shanghai investment company, was a special event as he was presented with his new blue 612 Scaglietti by Felipe Massa, who was in China for the Formula 1 Grand Prix. “The car is a birthday present for my wife and I hope she likes it,” said Lu. “Ferrari always comes up with nice surprises and I can’t wait to receive the next one!”

A little over two years later, on 14 January 2011, it was Johnson Zhang’s turn to be honoured with a special delivery. Zhang was the 999th customer of the Prancing Horse in China and he was able to fire up his 458 Italia for the first time during a ceremony for which the Oriental Pearl Tower, a symbol of the city, was lit up in Ferrari Red.
